Introduction

Founded in 2003, the school is set up to bring public school education with minimal expenses to the doorsteps of rural India’s low income families, enabling their children to compete with urban city children. This school is managed by professionals from fields of management, military and excellence in school education.

The teaching team comprises of a retired chief engineer of I.A.F., ex-IITian Mumbai, and a retired principal of a renowned public school in Delhi, who is a national awardee in the field of education. The school is now affiliated to CBSE (Affiliation Number: 531344).

DEVIKA JANKALYAN UTHAN CHARITABLE SOCIETY

Devika Jankalyan Uthan Charitable Society is the brand name for serving children in rural areas, providing services to underprivileged children in India, particularly in dedication to developing education in rural areas. It runs a school based on the thought of the great saint Swami Vivekanand.

The name of the school is Vivekanand Public School, which has provided education to thousands of children on no profit no loss. The institution runs SKILL DEVELOPMENT, PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT, CHARACTER BUILDING and other classes for the children free of cost by well-experienced faculty.

It works under the dedicated leadership of Wing Commander Charanjit (Retired) where all the family feel proud to work.Our vision is the following: 

The founder of the school, the Late Urmila, had worked as incharge of the junior wing classes Nursery to Vth of the Rotary Public School in Gurgaon from 24/6/1981 to 16/3/1991. During this ten-year period, she made indelible contribution in developing the junior wing of the school towards a distinct entity of its own, implementing many innovative ideas to develop teaching aids and play way methods.

She had a lot of initiative and administrative concern, and had effective control over the staff and was a source of guidance, motivation and leadership with her rich and mature experience.

She founded her own school in 2003 initially with ten children in a two-room building at V&PO. Garhi Harsuru with a few faculty members along with her husband Wing Commander Charanjit Singh. Their land of about two acres expanded to the present area of four acres.

It was her mission to provide her students and the community with a safe, sound, pollution-free, academically strong environment and to foster in her students strong character and intellect to compete with other public schools at Gurugram and NCR areas. Her attempts have started bearing fruits.
