About our Founder

A Message of Vision & Hope

The founder of the school, the Late Urmila, had worked as incharge of the junior wing classes Nursery to Vth of the Rotary Public School in Gurgaon from 24/6/1981 to 16/3/1991. During this ten-year period, she made indelible contribution in developing the junior wing of the school towards a distinct entity of its own, implementing many innovative ideas to develop teaching aids and play way methods.

She had a lot of initiative and administrative concern, and had effective control over the staff and was a source of guidance, motivation and leadership with her rich and mature experience.

Over the years, VPS has grown from strength to strength — building state-of-the-art infrastructure, nurturing a team of dedicated educators, and creating a community of students who go out into the world with not just degrees, but values, resilience, and a sense of purpose.

She founded her own school in 2003 initially with ten children in a two-room building at V&PO. Garhi Harsuru with a few faculty members along with her husband Wing Commander Charanjit Singh. Their land of about two acres expanded to the present area of four acres.

It was her mission to provide her students and the community with a safe, sound, pollution-free, academically strong environment and to foster in her students strong character and intellect to compete with other public schools at Gurugram and NCR areas. Her attempts have started bearing fruits.
